Effective January 1, 2022, the hourly rate payable to counsel under the Criminal Justice Act increased to $158 per hour for non-capital cases and to $202 for capital cases.  The statutory maximum for case in which some compensable work was performed after January 1, 2022, increased to $8,800 for direct criminal appeals and habeas cases.  The statutory maximum for other cases remains at $2,600.
